  • The Inciters - Boot N Soul Sea Blue Vinyl 7"

Pirates Press Records is thrilled to welcome Santa Cruz, CA's Northern Soul outfit, The Inciters, to the Pirates Family!

This 10-piece combo of veteran players have been filling dance floors globally since the mid-90s, electrifying audiences across the spectrum of skins, rudies, punks, mods, and rockers alike. No strangers to playing side-by-side with ska, punk, and Oi! bands, they are a natural fit to help expand Pirates Press Records' roster of soul artists. The band recently hit District Recording with Ryan Perras to record their Pirates Press Records debut LP, Bring Back the Weekend. With 4 LPs and a slew of singles that showcase their deep discography, these recordings are by far the band’s best work while also capturing the energy and spontaneity of their live show.

Of course, the band and the label agreed that they could not in good conscience release a Northern Soul album without an accompanying red-hot 7"" slab of 45 rpm wax, ready for any and all DJs to drop the needle on at the next all-nighter! The single in question is ""Boot n Soul,"" it was composed by no less of a scene legend than Lars Nylander (Skankin' Pickle, The Impalers)! He penned the track in a reggae style for The Impalers, but it went untouched until Lars decided its destiny was to be reborn as a foot-stompin' soul stirrer and that The Inciters were the band for the job. He joins in with the band on keys on the recording.

Coupled with B-side ""Love (Your Pain Goes Deep)," a cover of the 1967 dancefloor dynamite originally recorded by Frank Beverly & the Butlers, this is the first taste of what's to come from this incredible band. Get hip to it!
