The East Bay’s mighty Charger has returned with five new songs on 12” vinyl...Last Call is on its way from Pirates Press Records just in time for your motorcycle trip to hell!

Charger members hail from legendary punk bands such as UK Subs, Rancid, and Jello Biafra & The Guantanamo School of Medicine, just to name a few, but make no mistake, this band is its own entity with its own sound forged together!

The band laid down these tracks in July 2025 at Studio 2200 in Sausalito, CA - formerly known as the Bay Area’s legendary Record Plant - with Chris Dugan at the helm.

The first track “Plains Drifter” opens with bassist & vocalist Matt Freeman’s signature all-over-the-neck bass playing, before giving way to guitarist & vocalist Andrew McGee’s dynamic riffing, while drummer & vocalist Jason Willer holds it all together with his distinctive brand of powerhouse drumming. At just under two and a half minutes, there’s barely time to catch your breath before there are four more songs waiting for you!

On side two, “Rolling Thunder” & “Breakout” introduce the inimitable keyboard style of Kephera Moon, a past member - along with Willer - of pioneering Swiss Krautrock band Brainticket, as well as playing with Hedersleben & Nik Turner(Hawkwind).

In addition to the core band members, Lars Frederiksen (Rancid, The Old Firm Casuals) & Wayne Lozinak (Hatebreed) dropped by the studio to contribute vocals. Frederiksen also has co-writing credits on two of the songs.

To complete the package, the infernal artwork of Santos looks truly incredible across the massive gatefold jacket of the vinyl edition!

Charger has become an institution all their own since the release of their self-titled debut EP, the single “Watch Your Back,” and their incredible LP Warhorse, hitting the road with legends like High on Fire & Agnostic Front. The five songs on the Last Call EP will take you on a powerful journey. If you’re a fan of heavy music in any configuration, you’ll find a lot to like on this release!
