Guadalajara powerhouse Flores y Fuego are back with Wabi-Sabi, a new 7-song blast of their signature brand of darkly intense hardcore punk via Pirates Press Records.

Since the release of their debut LP Altar in 2021, and their split 7” with LA’s Slaughterhouse in 2024, Flores y Fuego have toured internationally and have become an in-demand force at home, playing shows with a diverse array of bands the likes of Turnstile, Amy & the Sniffers, fellow Guadalajara locals & PPR labelmates MESS, and many more. In the process, they have established themselves as a leading band in the vital punk scene in their home city and throughout Mexico.

The members of Flores y Fuego have persevered through turmoil both internal and external with a commitment to, as they put it, “keep the fire burning.” After a significant lineup change, with a new lead guitarist bringing a fresh energy and new perspective to the band, they are excited to share this new chapter in their collective history.

“We celebrate the beauty of imperfection, acknowledge impermanence, and embrace [the] transitory,” says lead singer Melisa. “In every crack, in every scar, there are stories that connect us to the fragility of the present.”

On singles “Guadaña,” “Sacrificio,” “Todo Va a Estar Bien,” and the title track, Flores y Fuego never shy away from the dark side of life in modern society. Expanding on the themes explored on this record, Melisa says, “Wabi-Sabi reflects our reaction to all the rotten nonsense that’s currently going on in our country and the rest of the world. With this album, we dive into a journey of introspection and catharsis where imperfection becomes the perfect expression of our truth.”

Expressing gratitude to “everyone that’s still with us,” Flores y Fuego are fired up to unleash Wabi-Sabi on the world - and are certain to find many new fans in the process. With lyrics in their native Spanish, these songs will connect with Spanish speakers as well as punks and disaffected people all over the world who can identify with the raw, incendiary power of the music and the ideas being expressed.
