Lars Frederiksen and The Bastards was formed after Lars's friend and Rancid bandmate Tim Armstrong encouraged him to write songs about growing up in Campbell, California. The band was then assembled as a dedicated unit for the collection of storytelling tracks Lars produced, along with relevant cover songs: "To Have and to Have Not" by Billy Bragg, as well as "Leaving Here," originally recorded by Eddie Holland, but inspired by Motörhead’s version. 

Originally released in 2001, the self-titled debut album from this project is critically acclaimed and hailed as a classic by fans of Rancid, The Old Firm Casuals, and Lars’s songwriting in general.

Original pressings of this fan-favorite album had become a rare commodity by the time Pirates Press Records decided to make sure it stayed in print for all fans to get their hands on.

On the occasion of the album’s 25th anniversary, Lars and PPR have teamed up to bring fans the best pressing yet, on a variety of colored vinyl options, and including revamped insert artwork!
