Louty - Lesk A Bída Života - Bone & Blue W/ Beer Splatter - LP

"PRE-PRODUCTION MOCK; APPEARANCE OF FINISHED PRODUCT MAY DIFFER"

Pirates Press Records is proud to present the debut LP by Czech melodic punks Louty, titled Lesk A Bída Života, or The Glitz and Misery of Life.

Louty comes from the small town of Roudnice nad Labem in the Czech Republic. They’ve been active on the local punk scene since 2012 and have built a reputation for the energy they bring to to their own spin on traditional punk sounds. From club shows to major punk festivals, they are a well-known live act throughout the Czech Republic and in neighboring countries.

The Louty sound is fast, hard, and punchy, with lyrics sung in Czech. Between 2012 and 2021, the band released three EPs and went through several lineup changes before arriving at their present configuration.

It was this lineup that began work on the songs that would ultimately become their first full length, recorded in 2025.

The lyrics on this album are largely about life and its pitfalls; victories & defeats. They’re about how life can be hard at times, but also beautiful. Fast-paced punk rock is juxtaposed with more introspective songs about heartbreak, represent- ing new sides of Louty.

Standout tracks like “Starej Vrak” (“Old Wreck”) and “Lopaty Z Ryzího Zlata” (“Shovels of Pure Gold”) look simultaneously outward and inward, expressing the pleasure of playing music with your friends even if fame remains elusive, and aging gracefully while remaining young in spirit. “Stick to life’s lessons and the right values,” explains lead singer Petan. “There is nothing better than being able to look yourself in the mirror with a clear conscience.”

All of the artwork for the album is hand drawn, and much like the songs, it depicts both darkness and joy.

Join Louty in celebrating The Glitz and Misery of Life on this remarkable album!
