  • Downtown Struts - Sail The Seas Dry - Black - Vinyl 10"

To celebrate the recent return of beloved Chicago punk rock ’n rollers Downtown Struts - and the 15th anniversary of their debut EP Sail the Seas Dry - Pirates Press Records is re-pressing a few of their most essential early records!

Originally formed in 2008 in Chicago, with two members hailing from Northern California and two from the Midwest, the band set out to create honest music inspired by both the punk and Americana traditions. Their songs are passionate & melodic at heart, but delivered with drive & aggression, drawing on influences such as The Clash, Rancid, Social Distortion, Tom Petty, and Bruce Springsteen.

Sail The Seas Dry is a seven-song chronicle of their experiences with luck, love, and life on the road. It was the band's debut release, and an early one for Pirates Press Records, as well! Featuring fan-favorite tracks such as “Always Heading West,” the strong songwriting & performances on this EP show all the promise of the great things to come on Downtown Struts' musical path...and it sounds as vital today as it did 15 years ago!

Whether you're picking up a new copy to replace a much-loved old one, or hearing these songs for the very first time, this 10" vinyl re-press of Sail the Seas Dry by Downtown Struts will undoubtedly get you excited for what the band has in store going forward!
