NOi!SE - On And On - Bloodshot Marble - Vinyl LP

Longstanding streetpunk resolutes, NOi!SE are set to release On and On, a full length collection of singles, B-sides, split 7” tracks, and a few completely unreleased songs, via Pirates Press Records, with whom the band share a long and productive history.

On and On is a companion piece to the band’s previous collection record, Pushing On, and like that album, it provides a bookend to a period in the band’s career. This collection represents the final release from the band’s lineup featuring Nate, Jesse, Kenny, and Matt, clearing the vaults and providing a fresh start for the band’s upcoming recordings with their new lineup. The songs collected here represent the output of individual writing and recording sessions over the course of four years. NOi!SE, as lead singer and primary songwrit- er Matt Henson puts it, “endeavor to use honest, anthemic music as a vehicle for social commentary.”

Songs like “Mass Apathy,” written in response to America’s school shooting epidemic, and “Price We Pay,” which focuses on the USA being the world leader in incarcerated persons, attempt to hold a mirror to society, all in an effort to solicit a thoughtful response from the listener.

One song in particular was more personal to Henson than any other the band had previously recorded. “Liam” was written as a message directly from a father to a son, during a time when military deployment made it impossible to be certain the father would see his son grow. It was so raw and emotionally honest, Matt second guessed releasing it. Thankfully, Matt has been there to see his son grow...and the song has resonated with audiences everywhere it’s been played - especially among fellow parents.

“It has elicited quite an emotional response from the audience every time,” he says. “I even FaceTimed Liam [while playing] in Philadelphia so that he could see it. My wife videoed his reaction and it makes me cry every time I watch it.”

Bringing together tracks from several rare or out-of-print releases in one place, this collection is essential to any fan of the band.

Even those that have diligently collected every release will be excited by the presence of a few previously unreleased tracks, and the chance to listen to these individual songs as an extraordinarily thoughtful, unified body of work.
